County offers tips for cheerleading tryouts

Youngsters considering trying out for cheerleading squads in the spring have a local resource to prepare.  Kids in grades 5-8 can better prepare themselves for tryouts in a special prep class offered by Williamson County Parks and Recreation.

The eight-week session, Oct. 15 through Dec. 10 (skip 11/26), is $80 and will offer tryout tips and personalized coaching for each child. Class meets each Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the dance studio at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Rd.

Instructors are experienced cheerleaders and dancers. Registration information is available at www.wcparksandrec.com.
