We continue our “Where they are now” series this week with the Brentwood Academy Eagles. The Eagles have alumni all across college football, including two head coaches: Mike MacIntyre (1984) at Colorado and Kent Austin (1982), who serves as head coach, General Manager and Vice-President of Football Operations for the Hamilton Tiger-cats of the Canadian Football League.
 
Ryan Carrethers, Arkansas St. 
(BA Class ’09) #98, Defensive Line
Carrethers was named to a number of preseason award watch lists including the Bednarik Award for the nation’s top defensive lineman.Through five games the senior has 30 total tackles, four for loss and a team high three sacks.The unanimous preseason All-Sun Belt selection could be selected in next year’s NFL Draft.
 
Alex Bullard, Tennessee 
(BA Class ’09) #78, Offensive Guard
Bullard starts at left guard on one of the SEC’s top offensive lines.The senior makes his 18th career start this week vs Georgia. During his career at UT, Bullard played both guard positions, center and even tight end. He started his career at Notre Dame playing offensive tackle. 
 
Jalen Ramsey, Florida St. 
(BA Class ’13) #13, Defensive Back
Ramsey was a top 15 player in the country in his recruiting class. The High School All-American was the first Florida State freshman to start at cornerback since Deon Sanders in 1985. In his first game as a Seminole at Pittsburgh, Ramsey recorded an interception.
 
Nathan Renfro, Maryland 
(BA Class ’11) #18, Punter
Serving as the Terrapins starting punter, Renfro has 16 punts with an average of 44.3 yards and a long of 63 yards. As a true freshman in 2012, Renfro started all 12 games averaging 39.7 yards per punt. 
 
Derek King, Vanderbilt 
(BA Class ’11) #33, Running Back
The redshirt sophomore had 19 yards on four carries this season against Austin Peay for the Commodores. In 2012, the versatile King saw action as a reserve defensive back playing on specials teams.
 
Wesley Sherrill, Tennessee Tech, 
(BA Class ’10) #74, Offensive Line
Sherrill enters his senior season as the starting right guard for the Golden Eagles. The 6’4, 290 pounder is the most experienced starter with 29 career starts as a 3-year starter. 
 
Max Staver, Florida 
(BA Class ’13) #12, Quarterback
Staver has the ideal stature for a quarterback standing 6’6, weighing 238 pounds. The true freshman is now listed as the third string signal caller after the season ending injury to starter Jeff Driskel. 
 
Woody Baron, Virginia Tech 
(BA Class ’12) #60, Defensive Tackle
Baron has played in all five games so far in his freshman season for the Hokies. Baron is listed as the third defensive tackle in the defensive line rotation. Registered his first career tackle in the season opener against Alabama in the Georgia Dome. Baron’s Uncle Jim played for the Hokies in the mid ’90’s. 
 
Graham Shuler, Stanford 
(BA Class ’12) #52, Offensive Line
Shuler serves as a reserve offensive lineman for the No. 5 team in the country, The Stanford Cardinal. Shuler was listed as a 4-star recruit by Rivals, Scout and ESPN coming out of BA.
