Fairview rolls, Indy comes back, Page upsets-all under a full moon

Strange things happen under full moons.  Friday night’s football action involving Williamson County teams as no different.

Fairview 47 Hickman County 6
Garrett Wall scored twice in the first quarter to give Fairview more than enough offense to spoil Hickman County’s homecoming 47-6.

Dreshad Moore added a pair of rushing scores, including a 52-yarder, as the Yellow Jackets (7-1, 6-1 District 11-AA) rolled up 172 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.  The ground game also opened another big night for quarterback Hunter Zimmerman as the sophomore threw for three touchdowns on a 12-of-17 performance that gained 230 yards.

Fairview visits Page next Friday night.

Page 21 Cascade 20
The Patriots (4-4, 1-3 District 12-AA) became an important part of the district race by going to Cascade and upsetting the Champions (6-2, 2-2 District 12-AA) 21-20.

Senior quarterback Zak Mizell threw for only 76 yards, but he ran 101 yards and scored both ways in the win.  Michael Roberts added 89 yards on the ground.

Cascade went up 20-14 in the fourth quarter after a missed extra point and promptly snagged a third interception from Mizell, driving to the Patriot 1-yard line.  On fourth and goal, the Champions refused a field goal, looking for a touchdown, only to have the Page defense deny a score.

Taking over at their one yard line with four minutes left, the Patriots drove 99-yards in 3:30 to capture the win.

The Patriots host old rival Fairview next Friday night.
