Where are they now? Centennial and Independence

Tomlin Collier
Aiello Fleming
Chase Swayze Prado
Wade Foster
This week in “Where are they now” we look back at the Centennial Cougars and Independence Eagles. Former high school rivals are now teammates in Chattanooga, two SEC players and a set of brothers round out this week. The Fairview Yellow Jackets are next.

JJ Tomlin, Washington Univ in St Louis (Cent. class ’13), Quarterback
Tomlin is the back up quarterback for the Bears as a true freshman. In three games of action, he is 9-14 passing for 105 yards and two touchdowns. Starting quarterback Eric Daginella is a senior and in his final year of eligibility. Tomlin looks to be the next man in line to lead the offense next season.

Cord Collier, Butler
(Cent. class ’13), Tight End
As a true freshman, Collier has yet to see game action in any of Butler’s eight games. The former All-Region tight end looks to be a redshirt candidate with a crowded tight end group that includes two seniors. The Bulldogs are 6-2 and are currently on a four game win streak.

Scot Aiello, Vanderbilt
(Cent. class ’10), Defensive Back
The junior walk-on earned his spot on the team after a student tryout offered by head coach James Franklin. As a sophomore, Aiello saw action in two games as a special teams player. He has yet to see the field this season for the Commodores.

Scottie Fleming, Chattanooga
(Cent. class ’13), Running Back
Centennial’s former All-District back will get redshirted his first year on the Moc’s campus. The 5’9, 170 pounder has not seen action as a true freshman. Fleming was a two sport star as a Cougar, also playing basketball.

Chase Swayze, Berry College
(Indy class ’13), Defensive Back
Swayze is a defensive back on Berry College’s first ever football team in school history. The Vikings added football this fall and freshman represent 84 of 95 players on the roster. Swayze, in two games, has one pass break up and one deflection.

Brandon Swayze, Gardner-Webb
(Indy class ’12), Defensive Back
The elder Swayze has started all seven games in his sophomore season for the Runnin’ Bulldogs at safety. Swayze has 21 total tackles, one pass break up and one blocked kick. He had 29 tackles last season in six games (three starts) as a true freshman.

Oscar Prado, Chattanooga
(Indy class ’13), Defensive Back
Prado has appeared in all seven games for the Mocs in his freshman season. Most of his contribution is on special teams where he has one tackle. Prado also played basketball and ran track at Independence.

Jalen Wade, Navy
(Indy class ’13), Linebacker
Wade has not seen action this season for Navy. The freshman is not listed on the depth chart and looks to redshirt. At 6’0, 208 pounds, Wade was also an All-Midstate selection as a sprinter in track and field while at Independence.
Landon Foster, Kentucky
(Indy class ’12), Punter
Foster is in his second season as the Wildcats punter. This year he is averaging 41.6 yards per punt with two landing inside the 20-yard line. Last season he was named Freshman All-SEC while averaging 42.9 yards per punt, a Kentucky freshman record.
