Fairview High School and head football coach Chris Hughes are proud of their 10 alumni playing college football. The group is led by a senior All-Conference linebacker with a possible NFL future. Six past Fairview standouts are still teammates with a trio of players at Austin Peay State University and at Bethel College. 
 
Ben Johnson, UT Martin (’09), Linebacker
The senior leads the team in total tackles (67) and tackles for loss (8.5) through eight games this season.The All-OVC performer lead the Ohio Valley Conference as a junior with 131 tackles. At 6’2, 235 pounds, Johnson could find his way on an NFL roster next fall. 
 
Hunter Branch, Austin Peay (’11), Wide Receiver 
In his junior campaign, Branch has three catches for 17 yards while seeing action in eight games. The 6’3 rangy wide out has four grabs for 30 yards in his college career and has seen action in 18 games. 
 
Deondre Moore, Austin Peay (’13), Wide Receiver
Moore is in his freshman season in Clarksville and has not recorded a statistic through eight games this season. The 6’1, 185 pound athlete was a touchdown machine at Fairview scoring 46 total touchdowns in his junior and senior seasons. 
 
Julian Franklin, Austin Peay (’13), Running Back
The freshman running back is third on the team in rushing with 34 carries for 88 yards in seven games this year. Franklin also has one catch for five yards out of the backfield. Franklin had a career high of seven carries for 39 yards at Vanderbilt.
 
Logan Cavendar, Tennessee (’12), Linebacker
Cavendar joined the Volunteers this fall after redshirting his freshman season last year at Tennessee Tech. The past Fairview team captain sees most of his action on the practice squad. Cavendar is majoring in mechanical engineering. 
 
Bobby Brock, Cumberland (’09), Linebacker
The former All-District Yellow Jacket redshirted his first year on the Cumberland campus in 2010. Now as a redshirt junior serves as a veteran member of the practice squad while majoring in psychology. 
 
Sam Edmondson, NW Mississippi (’13), Offensive Line
Edmondson has started all nine games in his freshman season. Standing at 6’5, 280 pounds, the junior college prospect could receive college interest from Cornell, Brown, Penn, The Citadel, Drake and others. 

Tommy Derrick, Bethel (’13), Wide Receiver
Derrick is a freshman wide receiver. Bethel does not provide stats for the 5’8,139 pound skill player. Derrick ran a 4.47 40-yard dash at camps after his senior season. 
 
Brian Reynolds, Bethel (’13), Linebacker
Reynolds is a freshman linebacker. Bethel does not provide stats. Reynolds was a middle linebacker last year at Fairview and also played baseball for the Yellow Jackets. 
 
Jacob Buttrey, Bethel (‘13), Defensive Line
Buttrey is a freshman defensive lineman. Bethel does not provide stats for the season. As a senior at Fairview, Buttrey had 38 total tackles on the defensive line.
