Cooper's bucket gives Raptors upset win over Bruins

Perry Cooper scored the biggest bucket of his high school career last night with just three ticks left on the scoreboard clock as Ravenwood (16-9, 8-2 in District 11-AAA) handed Brentwood Bruins (23-2, 9-1) their first district loss of the year, 49-47.

The loss, a disappointment for Brentwood, will have no affect on the district standings after Ravenwood was upset last week by Independence. For the Raptors, the win will be a huge boost as the district tournament approaches. It als locks the Raptors into the second spot in the district for seeding purposes.

Matthew Hailey had 16 points to lead Ravenwood in scoring, while guard Nick Gleason added 10.

The front-line combo of Andy Schumpert and Jacob Adcock led the Bruins in point production with 12 each, and Jack Bautista added 11.

Brentwood 56 Ravenwood 43 (Girls)
Brentwood kept a strangle-hold on the top spot in District 11-AAA with a 56-43 win over Ravenwood. Jenny Roy had the hot hand for the Lady Bruins, scoring 22 on the night. Hannah-Catherin Lackey chipped in 11 points.

Alexis Ahlert scored 12 points on the night to lead Ravenwood, which despite the loss remains solidly in fourth place in the district.
