Pairings, times set for Region 6-AAA basketball

Pairings and the schedule for the Region 6-AAA basketball tournament at Glencliff High School in Nashville have been set.
 
All eight girls teams will see action on Friday, opening with District 12-AAA second seed taking on Franklin’s Lady Rebels at 4 p.m.  Brentwood, 11-AAA’s second seed, will face District 12’s #3 seed Hillsboro at 5:30 p.m.  The Lady Burros are coached by former Centennial head coach and Vanderbilt University standout Cherish Stringfield.
 
The night caps Friday have Overton, the top seed form District 12, taking on Hunters Lane while District 11 tournament champ Dickson County will play Hunters Lane at 8:30 p.m.
 
The boys own the courts Saturday, with Ravenwood, a three seed, taking on Cane Ridge, a two seed, at 4 p.m.  Franklin hits the hardwood at 5:30 to face Hillwood, followed by Hunters Lane and Dickson County at 7 p.m.  Brentwood plays Hillsboro in the last game Saturday night.
 
The remainder of the schedule has the girls semi-finals on Monday at 6 and 7:30 p.m., with the boys’ semi’s at the same times on Tuesday.  Wednesday sees the girls’ championships at 7 p.m. and boys’ title games on Thursday at 7 p.m..
 
Only the top two teams on the boys and girls side will advance from the regional tournament to sectional play.  Sectional winners earn a spot in the State Championship Tournament in Murfreesboro.
