Although organizers had no idea how it would go over, they saw the idea of a Veterans Day reverse parade at The Park at Harlinsdale Farm as the best alternative.

And from the looks of things, they were right.

“It was the most difficult parade we’ve done in 20 years, but a reverse parade was the only way we could have a parade,” said Tom Lawrence, one of the original parade organizers in 2001. “I’m extremely gratified by the turnout of people.”
