Families celebrate sweet Saturday at Strawberry Festival

Strawberries took center stage at the 2nd annual Franklin Farmers Market Strawberry Festival Saturday, May 18 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Market’s Shed.

Families celebrated spring’s favorite fruit with strawberries treats such as pies, shortcakes and even fresh strawberries picked from the vine at area local farms.

Homemade strawberry shortcakes made by Norton Family Farm with a dollop of whipped cream from the Hatcher Family Dairy were sold as well as strawberry gelato from sponsor Whole Foods, featuring Delvin Farms organic strawberries and milk from Hatcher Family.

Music, games, a Barnyard Petting Zoo accompanied the celebration of the tasty strawberries.
