Second Annual Westhaven PorchFest brings music to Westhaven

The music festival PorchFest returns to Westhaven Saturday June 15 from 4 to 10 p.m. PorchFest will include dozens of local and regional musical acts playing on more than 20 porches in the Westhaven community throughout the event.

With what organizers describe as the “overwhelming success” of last year’s event, PorchFest 2013 is bringing more musical acts from all genres of music to this family-friendly event, which is free and open to the public.
Invited musicians will perform on stages and on residents’ front porches for no other reason than to engage the community. Residents volunteer their porches as a way to support the local music scene and interact with their neighbors.

A schedule of assigned timeslots and a map of participating homes will be provided at a later date and will help avoid overlap and allow visitors to customize their PorchFest experience.

The Nashville Alternators will close out the show, starting at 8 p.m. with a lakeside concert.
