St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital breaks ground on new Dream home

Jennifer Spergl (Chairperson), Teresa (Mother of patient, Evan), Evan (St. Jude Patient), Kris Keown (Builder), and Chase Simpson (St. Jude staff).

Tickets will be on starting March 2014
On Dec. 18, a groundbreaking ceremony was held at the site of the 2014 St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway at 313 Finnhorse Ln. in Franklin.
Organized by local sponsors and volunteers, guests learned how they can win the St. Jude Dream Home with an estimated value of $440,000 and other prizes for a $100 ticket and support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. A limited number of tickets will be available and proceeds from the fundraiser will help save children’s lives from cancer and other deadly diseases.
Participants heard from St. Jude representatives, a local patient family, and the builder from Signature Homes, Kris Keown.
Sponsors of the program include WZTV FOX 17, Signature Homes, The BIG 98 WSIX, Crowe Horwath, Regions Bank, American Signature Furniture, Chairperson Jennifer Spergl of Benchmark Realty, and national sponsors Brizo and Shaw Floors among others.
The St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway is a 22-year tradition that is now one of the largest single-event fundraisers for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital nationwide. This is the 10th anniversary of the program launch in Nashville. To date, more than 300 homes have been given away and the program has raised more than $270 million for St. Jude.
The daily operating cost for the research hospital is $1.9 million, which is primarily covered by public contributions. No family ever pays St. Jude for anything and, for every child treated here, thousands more have been saved worldwide through St. Jude discoveries.
