Applications are now available for three $10,000 college scholarships offered by the Rotary Club of Brentwood.
Eligible students must attend one of three high schools in the club’s locale — John Overton High School, Brentwood High School or Ravenwood High School. The scholarship is awarded annually in $2,500 increments.
Applicants must be a high school senior, with a grade point average of B or above. Selection is based on the candidate’s financial need, academic performance, writing ability, recommendations and participation in work and extracurricular activities. Applications must be completed and returned by March 13. Online applications are available at https://portal.clubrunner.ca/5542/sitepage/youth-programs-scholarships/scholarship
“The Rotary Club of Brentwood is committed to improving our community,” said Scholarship Chair Jim Ryan. “We believe these scholarships are vital to provide students the opportunity to fulfill their goals and life aspirations through the collegiate experience. We encourage any and all eligible students to apply.”
In addition, a fourth $8,000 scholarship is also offered to one student from any high school in Brentwood or John Overton High School, specifically pursuing a Criminal Justice Major at Middle Tennessee State University. This scholarship is given in memory of Brentwood Police Officer Destin Legieza. Applications must be completed and returned by March 13.
