The Knights of Columbus to host Oktoberfest event for local nonprofits

The Knights of Columbus, a fraternal catholic and charitable organization, will host its annual Oktoberfest Knight Out event on Oct. 1 from 6-9 p.m. at the Saint Phillip Catholic Church gathering area.

The adults-only BYOB event includes dinner, desserts, live music, hot pretzels, games with prizes and an Oktoberfest costume contest.

Tickets are $27.50 per person or $300 for a table sponsorship. The table sponsorship includes a table advertisement of your business, your name on the Wall of Sponsors and eight standard tickets.

Proceeds go to local nonprofits, charities and health care initiatives such as Habitat for Humanity, Mercy Community Healthcare and Brightstone.

The Knights of Columbus also donates to provide college scholarships to high school students in need. It works to supply practical items, such as socks, to incarcerated individuals.

Ray Gedert, a local Knights of Columbus chapter member, claims the Oktoberfest event will be as fun as beneficial for Williamson County and Franklin.

"These events that we've been holding are very well attended, and they are a lot of fun," he said. "Our team is excited to invite people in, and we're looking to make sure we get the word out so that we're not just inviting the parishioners from our church and the Knights of Columbus folks.

"We want to get more community involvement. All of our programs help support the community, so we'd love to have an opportunity for the community to come and enjoy."
