Dominic Reed led three Cougars in double figures and the Centennial boys’ basketball team used a 15-8 run in the third to pull away for a 67-53 win at Columbia on Monday.
Reed scored eight of his game-high 19 points out of the break. Taner Lee added 16 points, including a pair of fourth-quarter 3-pointers, and Malaki Moore scored 10 points. Both Moore and Lee finished with three triples apiece.
Centennial led 31-25 at the half and stretched that lead to 46-33 to open the final frame.
Jhrevious Hall scored 10 points to lead Columbia.
In the earlier girls’ game, Columbia raced past Centennial 56-20. Statistics weren’t provided.
The Cougars head to Summit for a double-header Tuesday.
Fairview boys 72, Nashville Christian 68
Mays McCoy scored a career-high 27 points and the Yellow Jackets stayed unbeaten at 6-0 with a home win over Nashville Christian Monday.
Nathan Dillingham added 18 points and four assists, while Jack Estes contributed nine points and four rebounds for Fairview.
The Yellow Jackets stay at home Tuesday against visiting Nolensville.
